The friends and families of alcoholics are welcome to discover how sharing their experience, strength and hope can solve their common problems. We believe that alcoholism is a family illness and changed attitudes can aid recovery.
If you are troubled by somebody else’s drinking, if you lived with or are living with a problem drinker, help is available. You can check the Al-Anon Schedule or call the 24 hour hotline to find a meeting in your area. Alateen schedules, assistance for young people, are available only through the hotline, 360-618-0464.
Al-Anon is not allied with any sect, denomination, political entity, organization or institution; doesn’t engage in any controversy; neither endorses or opposes any cause. There are no dues for membership. Al-Anon is self supporting through its own voluntary contributions.
Al-Anon has but one purpose: to help the families are friends of alcoholics. We do this by practicing the Twelve Steps of AA ourselves, by welcoming and giving comfort to families of alcoholics and by giving understanding and encouragement to the alcoholic.
Open and Closed Meetings, Handicapped Access and Childcare Availability
Meetings may choose to be “open” or “closed” by agreement of the home group members. An Open meeting may be attended by anybody who is interested. A Closed meeting is restricted to Al-Anon or Alateen members; anybody whose life has been affected by a problem drinker. These meetings will be noted in the schedule by an ‘O’ or a ‘C’.
Handicapped accessible meetings will be noted by and ‘HCA’ in the schedule. Meetings childcare available will be noted with ‘CC’.
